Awning compression clamps

At least that’s what I’m calling them. 2020 rock wood mini lite 2509s.

So the compression clamps that allow you to angle the awning don’t seem to hold no matter how hard you crank them down. Is there a mod or replacement part that will allow you to control the angle without hooking a kettlebell to the arm to keep the piston compressed?

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. Both sides have this problem? I think I would check the installation of the clamps on the arms something doesn't sound right.

It’s the right side. I was thinking replacing that aluminum block with one that has knurling on it might help but currently it won’t hold the awning arm in the down position. It just slides right back up

My Class C is very similar. I tilt the awning and it stays until there is a breeze and it pops right back up.

I should have mentioned give some thought to awning poles. I never use the adjustments on the awning arm I just set my poles to provide tilt for water run off. does require a little more setup but I don't worry about wind gusts breaking my awning. With that said if I know a big wind is coming or a storm I put the awning away. Just something to consider.

On my Roo awning, the front arm is adjustable only. Once the pitch is set, I still use a hold down rope to prevent it from moving.

What year is your Roo, Hack? Both sides here are adjustable for pitch.

Mine is an 09. The arms were non-adjustable for pitch, but the front got damaged and replaced. Sorry on the delayed response. Just came through today.
