Awning Help Needed

Hello.

I have a 2011 Wildwood 26TBSS. We made the mistake of leaving the awning up while leaving to go out for breakfast. Needless to say, a nasty storm came through and the arms of my awning are broken.

Does anyone know what company makes the awnings for this model? I'd like to try to order pieces online and fix it myself, but I'm having trouble even finding out who makes the awning. My awning is an hour away in storage otherwise I'd take it out and try to see if it says the model number on the awning itself.

Thanks for any help!

Dometic is pretty common. There's no decals anywhere on the awning?

Hi,
What you will need to do is go to the trailer and look for a model number or at least the MFG to get the correct arms for your awning. If the awning still operates, the sticker in on the left side of the tube when the awning is fully extended.
Electric or manual?
I would get the information required and Email this guy for used arms or you might pay dearly for the new ones from the dealer. This ebay seller has used surplus for about $40.00 per set.
Speaking of the dealer..... Did you buy the unit new? You could just call the dealer and ask them for a quote on the new awning arms.
Also, look in your packet for the awning manual, it will have a parts diagram in it.
Good luck,
crunchman

PS: MAKE SURE TO SEARCH IN THIS FORUM FOR AWNING REPLACEMENT... THE SPRINGS IN THE AWNING TUBE WILL HURT YOU IF THE PROPER PROCEDURE IS NOT FOLLOWED during replacement.

Fyi if your awning is electric this would have saved your awning.

Thanks for the quick responses and warm welcome.

Yes, we bought the unit from a dealer. I'm sure I have a packet somewhere with the specs. I'm going to go out to the trailer this weekend with my hubby and find out exactly what parts we need.

Thanks for the link. We already had to have two of our jacks repaired at the dealer and it costed a fortune, so I'm hoping that we can order the parts and change them ourselves.

Thanks again!

So did wind or water ruin your arms?

Did you have awning tilted for the water to run off?

Also most manual awnings allow you to remove the lower arms from the camper to use as legs to tie down as well.

Of course awning still needs to be canted to allow water run off or it will pond in the middle and well then come crashing down.

We're on our second Wildwood; both had/have Dometic awnings. Our 2009 had a manual, and our 2012 26TBSS has a power unit.

Put up awning by myself

Just purchased a new 2013 flagstaff HW27ks and want to put awning up by myself as that's how I'll be camping. Any suggestions? Also should the weather require me to put the awning up, what's the best way without bringing pop up halfway down to zip it in?
