Awning recommendations

I currently have a 2015 Prime Time 3200bhd with a 12ft dometic 9100 awning. I would really like to install a 20ft awning instead putting it over the slide too. I've read all the positive and negatives about this. I've even got the sidewall plans so I know where all the supports are. I'm definitely going for it.

Question is would I be better off moving the idle arm down and going with a new dometic tube or should I replace the entire unit and go with something else. I've had no issues with my dometic awning. But the material is starting to show it's age already. So now is the time.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Solera? Carefree? Stay with dometic or something else? Thanks

I have a 2015 Prime Time Lacrosse with a 20 foot Domestic awning. When this one fails I will be switching to a Carefree manual awning. This auto is hard to reach to lock in place, a little breeze will cause it to pop back up, as the knob locks don't tighten well. You have to build poles if you want to leave it out in light wind. The Carefree on my old SOB was great and I miss it every time we put this one out.

I know exactly what you mean. Mine is the reduced pitch and actually pitches up instead of down. I thought about drilling 2 holes and putting a pin in the arm to keep the awning down when raining as those knobs don't hold.

Mine is electronic so there is no lock that I know of.
