Awning strange issue

I have a 2017 wolf pup. Power awning. It all the sudden stopped working. At first it looked like it was the switch but I got a new switch and it didn't help.

Here is what I have found so far. If I check the voltage at the 6 pin switch we have 12+v. If I remove the wires on the load side of the switch(2 wires coming from the awning motor) I do get 12v or -12v depending on which way I press the switch at the load side of the switch. If I apply 12v directly to the motor wires at the switch the motor will run. However and here is the strange part.... When I put the wires on the load side of the switch it will not put voltage to the switch. At first it looks like it puts a little voltage, like millivolts, but it drops to 0 quickly.

I'm completely out of ideas. Anyone got any suggestions?

It may be a bad connection somewhere between the switch and power source. With no load it will read full voltage, but with a large load, the voltage drop across the connection is high.

some awning motors will trip if they detect low voltage. Then you have to wait for them to reset themselves

I always make sure that battery is GOOD on trailer and try and have it connected to shore power..

I'm reading 12.7v on the power source. So power shouldn't be an issue and as far as the short somewhere. If I apply 12v to the wires at the switch location the awning works. I have checked the wires from the motor to where the enter the trailer and there is no issues there at all. I cant see the stuff inside the walls. But I don't see how that can be an issue if applying 12v to the wires makes it work.

Also... I'm plugged into 120v source.

measure the voltage AS you retract the awning
it may be a lot less while motor is trying to turn

IF adding 12v to switch maybe bypassing a lot of the wiring where the fault may be hiding?

addition edit
Just because you see 12v does not mean wiring is good
damaged wire may be hanging on by a few strands and still show 12v
But wont allow enough current (amps)

bad or flat battery will cause issues to with motors
most MOTORS with high amp draw needs a good constant amp supply (battery)

even if converter is supplying 12.7v may NOT be producing enough amps

you could be running other high amp stuff .. Inverter + TV , water pump

turn off everything 12v

make sure battery is ON .. and in good condition

Two things, one wouldn't being hooked up to 120v bypass all that?

The second thing is that I just went out there disconnected my battery completely and the 120 v and hooked my jump starter up to the camper. All 12v items worked except for the awning. That includes the slide room.

So it doesn't appear that the battery voltage is the issue, unless I'm missing something else.

Is there an in line relay somewhere? If not I'm thinking it may be the main power board that doubles as a fuse box.

If yours has a wind sensor it is probably will have a module that could bad .

The power module has power 12 v into it and has wind sensor and extend and retract going in . Then the out put is two wire, controlled by the extend and retract switch and possible a remote.
