Awning Tensioner

My 2015 Flagstaff Classic popup tent trailer has a Dometic awning. While setting up the awning and before I placed tie downs on it, a gust of wind caught the awning and blew it over the trailer. The tensioner is aluminum tubing with a small tube inside a slightly larger tube. The smaller tube was bent and can no longer go inside the larger tube to hold the awning edge away from the trailer. Can the inside tube be straightened or where can I purchase a new tube?

I used a piece of metal that fit inside the aluminum tube. A lot of tapping and fussing got the tube straight enough to use. It (our old pop up) was sold with the refurbished tube still on it. Patience is the key.
