Awning working correctly?

Not sure if I have a problem or not. My TT info is in my signature so I won't repeat it here. Brand new off the lot last Friday. Had same issue during walk thru but said is was ok. When deploying the awning, only one side advances out, you have to go ut and free up the back end and then finish deploying it. Works just fine retracting it. Issue is really that controls are inside by the kitchen so I have no visibility of how the awning is deploying unless I stop and go out to check. I travel alone. Is this working properly or do I need to go back and have service look at it? TIA

That doesn't sound right. Is the outer arm binding on the inner (mounted) arm requiring you to release it?

Sounds like the material is not centered on the tube. Once you get it deployed, measure from the end of tube to the edge of the material on both ends. It should be the same. If not, retract it enough to take the tension off the material and slide the material over. Once you have both sides equal, run the awning in and out to see if it stays. If it doesn't, slide it back to the center and pop rivet thru the side seams into the tube on both ends. That will make the arms center themselves on the side channels.

Hi my dealer gave me the same line of bull with my 21' awning on my new tt also at the pid. The awning arms will open 1-2 inches and stop. The fabric will unfurl under the metal cover and just drape down. If you give it a little push it will snap open and work just fine. I have opened it 30-40 times and same problem will not open with out help. I took it to dealer he tried to center the awning this did not help. He replaced one of the arms and piston and this did not help. dealer is waiting for demotic to get back to him on what to do next.

Hope this helps Tim

Thanks everyone for the responses. If it stops raining here, I will check out a couple of the suggestions and reply back.
