I bought my awning arm(Dometic 9100)from Panther RV. You can buy just one side and the price, shipping and service was great. I just finished my replacement of my left arm. So I have some tips to assist with installation. First the part number should be labeled on the inside arm. The Dometic part number may be for a pair. However Panther has another number for the right or left arm. Keep in mind, your left or right arm is based on viewing your RV from the outside.
You may need additional parts depending on your RV. I have a 2019 Microlite. If your RV arm is attached by 4 rivets, at the base and middle, as mine were, you will need to drill out the existing old rivets. Which was easy, just drill off the tip of the rivet with the same size as the rivet. Mine was 3/8 oscar rivets. I could not find oscar rivets at my local box stores. My local RV dealer gave me 5 for free. You should use only oscar rivets. After researching at engineering sites, the rivets are designed for high vibration areas, since they expand wider than a standard rivet. You can use a regular gun, too.
Another very important thing I learned from other techs and Rvers, you will need cotter pin to insert entirely through the awning. See you Dometic inst directions. I could not find the 7/19 x 2 3/4 cotter pin. I used a 3/32 craftsman allen wrench with duct tape on one end additional safety. Also, you may have align the holes up first before inserting the allen wrench. I used flashlight on the other side to align. DO NOT USE a coat hanger or wire or any weak metal as a replacement for the cotter pin, PER TECH. They can break and the spring inside is like a garage door spring and can cause damage or injury.
I also tied a rope around the awning to the other side of the RVto assist my wife holding the awning during installation. Also use zip ties to hold the old arm since it is under force. I forgot too and it shot outward, but it missed me.
I hope this helps others.
