Dometic 9200 Awning motor, completely worthless

Now this....

This motor is the worst design ever. After a few successful trips, my "fix" has broken. The pin I put through the metal shaft got bent by the torque of the awning and the JB Weld failed, causing the exact same problem as before. Awning deployed on it's own. Unreal.

When you put things back together did you set the preload on the awning spring?

There is no spring in a 9200 awning. Just an empty tube. Thus putting way too much pressure on this little motor with a faulty plastic gear inside. Design flaw. Dometic should do a recall.

I did not know that! So the motor has to work hard in both directions. The 9100 have a left side spring. good luck
