dometic Awning wiring

I own a 2020 Forest River EVO 267ss TT. Awing works intermittently. Think maybe a loose connection or something I removed switch from wall. You can see wiring in attached photo. the black and red wires go to awing motor. The yellow is the 12v from fuse panel. Does any body know what the white wires are for?

I get 12 v on both yellow wires, when switch is moved to one of the on positions I get 12v at either the red or black wires. seems the switch is working properly. I disconnected wires going to motor near the motor. I hooked up wiring straight from battery to motor side connection. Awing works in both directions when wires are switched at battery. so that tells me motor is okay. I then hooks up wires from switch direct to motor, bypassing TT wiring. awing won't work. If I remove black or red wire, from motor connection and ground it motor works. I ground it to door frame. This has me puzzled.

trying to figure this out. Just did another check. Using OHMS setting on meter, no continuity from white wires to ground, using door frame as a ground. switching meter to dc volts I get 12 v at yellow wire and either red or black wire using door frame as ground. If I switch ground lead to white wires I get 3.6v. Maybe the white wires are a ground for the switch and maybe a bad connection to ground? I can't see where white wires go due to them being inside wall.

Your assumptions are correct.

The white wires appear to be the ground circuit. (for either direction of the motor)

I would follow them and see if the connection to ground is compromised.

If it is like my awning it had a loose connection in the awning roller assembly hard to get to dealer fixed under warranty. Later RJD .

Couldn't figure out where the white wires went to, wasn't going to pull off wall boards, so I found another place to create a ground and run new wires to switch. work okay now.
