Dometic electric awning
I have a 2010 Wildcat that came with the Dometic 9100 electric awning. Mine came with the adjustable slide arms, so I have not had any problems with rain water pooling on top. My problem is that the adjustable slide broke right where it attaches to the strut. Now we have only been camping about 12 times altogether and counting the times it has been extend during camping and washing, it has probably been extended and retracted less than 25 times. The slide arm is made of very thing aluminum. It was sitting out under the shelter and I happened to walk by and that whole assembly was sticking straight out from the pressure of the strut. I can just imagine the damage it could have caused if I had been driving down the interstate and some one had been on my right side when this occurred. Has anyone else had this problem? Do any of you engineering types know of a way to install a safety catch to use when towing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
