Dometic power awning Help

I replaced the fabric on my 20' awning this weekend. It went smoothly until i rolled it up. The spring side is rolling up faster than the motor side and the motor side will not close all the way. The fabric is loose on the trailer and even on the roller. I've tried adjusting the turns on the spring and all that seems to do is change how easy it rolls up. PLEASE HELP I'M PULLING MY HAIR OUT AND DON'T HAVE MUCH LEFT!

It might be that you need to adjust your fabric left or right at the rig to ensure it rolls up evenly this is a guess on my part not seeing the awning. typically the preload on the spring side is around 12 to 14 turns.

On mine, as it deploys, the motor side lags an if I dont go out an give a pull on the mechanism it releases with a hell of a bang. One of the shocks has lost some of its force . Once deployed, I can alternately pull the arms and it appears that that shock is weaker. You dont have something like that going on do you? I see your vintage to be 2017, mines a '16

lube all the joints that may relieve the sudden release and banging of the awning

Does this look like your awning and did you do it like this?

Thanks Seadog. The fabric is loose on the trailer and sliding it one way or the other doesn’t seem to make a difference. The 12 to 14 turns is that with the awning closed or open because when I undid mine it in rolled 6 and that was open about 6 inches. All the arms are free and lubed. The old cloth worked perfect it was just stained and I wanted to replace it with one that matched the trailer better. Thanks everyone for the suggestions

Thanks dave1650. I think that’s a carefree in the video instead of a domestic. I did basically the same as the video. Everything comes in straight as it winds up and the spring side closes tight the motor side stays out about 4-6 inches watching it roll up the stripes are even until the last foot. I’ve measured to center it on the roller, measured the length of each side, and measured the trailer. Thanks for your help
