Electric Awning Fix From Dometic

I just installed the free fix from Dometic on my electric awning. This is the fix so you can let one side down during rain so it can drain off. The kit was very easy to install the instructions are very easy to read. You do need two people to install as you have to hold up the awning while replacing the lower leg on the non electric leg of the awning. Now the awning works just like a manual one.
Great fix too bad they couldn't have done this in the beginning.

All I have for now is pics of the kit. The replacement arm is for the side without the motor.

I will post some pics of it installed tonight. When you go to your dealer you will need the model number of the hardware and how far the arm is from the door. At least that is what they wanted from my dealer. The number is kinda hard to find. Look inside the lower arm either front or rear. Mine was on the motorized arm. The kit was free but had to pay shipping. It rained here today and I tried it out. It works great just like the manual ones now.

I wonder why some dealers want the info, and others don't?? I took my model number to the dealer because I assumed he needed it. He said they only made one kit and it would fit all the 9100 awnings. I did not pay shipping either.

Thanks Don. It was helpful.
Were the pins in the arm easy to remove?
I had to fix an awning once and I had to drill the heads off the rivits to get them out.

No these have clips on them that you pry off with a small screwdriver. Very easy just need to have an extra set of hands.
