Front window replacement

Hi - we took the cover off our Puma 21rbc and found a chip in the top of the front bedroom window. We used it once last year, and when we covered it we didn't notice it. Our RV friends think we should call the manufacture and say it's a defect, but I'm thinking it's an issue to turn into Progressive insurance. We have a $500 deductable and have no clue how much the window will cost. Any advice appreciated!!

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. What year is your rig is it still under warranty. Claiming factory defect for a chip may be a hard road to go. Is the chip so bad that it will cause leaking and is it worth the deductible to replace the window over a single chip. Just things I would ask myself if I had that problem.

There are also chip repair kits you can buy or services that do it. I have never tried them but I would in this case

It's a 2020, we got it last October. Thanks so much for the welcome and replies. Maybe I will look into the chip kits and try that. I just hate we have something new and it has something wrong already!! It's not causing any leaking at least. Thanks so much for the advice!! Does anyone know of a good cover idea for the front window so we don't get more chips?

I didn't think of the chip repair because its not a truck or car windshield but progressive may spring for the chip repair worth checking out. use the search function at the upper right I seem to remember several articles about custom made coverings for the front windows.

I assume it is windshield glass as many, including mine are now. I don't think I have ever seen a chip in the tempered safety glass as they will generally just shatter instead.
