Replaced mine while ipen. Rested awning on high step ladder and only discone ted motor side from arm.Be sure to put pin in opposite side to stop spring from unwinding. Google it, many you tube instructions on replacement.

Again, make sure to bench test your motor before spending any money. My awning did the same thing twice. Both times I took the motor out of the tube and connected it to a battery on the work bench. Both times it turned. I reinstalled it in the tube and it worked. I thought that something got out of alignment or jammed. But anyway, both times, just the R&R got it to work and it is still working. It is troubling that this has happened two times but it only cost me two pop rivets to reattach the end cap on the roller.

Yours is not the same model has mine , on mine the spring is at the opposite end of the motor. Motor is on the end where wires are ,spring end has no wires. Mine clicked when button was pushed , but that's all it did. There is a sticky in the forum on mine

Is this the type of awning motor that's replaceable with a cheap automotive window motor? Mine works, but is sluggish. If the motor is cheap, I'd like to keep one on hand in case it fails at an inconvenient time or place.

Can something in the awning be lubricated to make it work better, other than the hinge points of the arms? I already did that with little improvement.

Question Dometic 9100 motor assembly

Another question relative to the Dometic 9100 awning motor. Is the bracket on the motor end (where the wires exit from the motor) replaceable? This bracket attaches the motor "shaft" to the awning arm and has fractured as a result of arm failure in heavy wind. Motor shaft is presently tie-wrapped to the outside wall bracket on top of the arm mount assembly. Need to know if I need to replace entire motor assembly (motor is still good).
