HEHR window problems
I have HEHR single pane windows on my coach. On two of them so far the leading edge strip that has the latch toggle has come off, along with the rubber strip that apparently is intended to hold it in place. Seems to be only a pressure fit. Has anyone had this problem, and how have you addressed it? I'm hesitant to try to tap it in with a hammer, being right up against the fixed part of the window.

I had that issue last year. Used a bit of silicon adhesive and it's held since.

Thanks. I thought of using an adhesive, but I can't get the old gasket and metal on with reasonable force. how did you get it back in place?

I just had the same problem occur, and I am also concerned about the force needed to get it back in place. I would rather try and fix it myself, rather than take my MH to the dealer and wait weeks to get it back.

Chuck, don't take a hammer to glass, never a good outcome. Try TLC in lieu of.

I have not done this but I believe the black RTV (silicone) would act more
or less as a lubricant allowing you to press the rubber and metal strip back
onto the glass. I have an old rubber mallet that I'd probably use in your
case. (A relic of the old days when cars had "wheel covers" that had to
be hammered back on.)

I'm having the same problem... 3 windows so far... It must be a bad design. I can not get the rubber insulator back on the glass with the aluminum latch / trim.
I'm considering just re-bedding the glass to the aluminum without the rubber with clear silicon.
I can't believe this isn't a major issue on here and people haven't blown up the Forum on this issue...
