Hot Day - Awning Pitch

Hi!
The sun is getting hot these days, and I'd like to adjust the pitch angle of my awning.

I have a Wolfpup 16BHSBL camper with a Lippert Edge 12V power awning.

I have read the few step instructions to adjust the pitch in the manual, and it hasn't helped. I'll share pictures below. What the heck am missing?

I have loosened the thumb screw on the bottom side all the way and pulled and pushed. It appears there's a thru pin setting in a dip in the bar that is keeping the beam from sliding. The inner bar fits tightly within the outer bar - no wiggle.

Thanks to anyone reading this and commenting on this beautiful summer day!

No need to loosen any screws. Just pull down hard on the last arm that you see. Give it a try you won't break.

It does not look like he has that style of awning, it looks like that big black knob has to be loosened and you can slide it to that notch that is visible and re-tighten. I thought the same thing because that’s the style I have.

Looking at the photos oh yes I think you're correct it's a different type of awning.

Doesn’t look like it is fully extended. We have the same awning and it dips down on the last foot or so of extending it. The knob will lower it more but only enough to shed rain off to one direction. I don’t see the flap hanging down on the photos so are you sure it’s extended all the way?

Thx for the input! I loosened the thumbscrews - extended the awning further - pulled down on the large outer arm that extends up to awning roll - and the awning came down as the thumbscrew's bar slid easily within the guide bar. This is very different than the KZ I had years ago - unless I was doing that wrong too LOL.

Next challenge is to get the thumbscrews to hold the angle. I tighten hard and the awning slides itself back up.

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Windows, Awnings and Doors sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to that sub-forum and not general questions.

The awnings pull quite hard back against the thumbscrews - even if you tighten them like heck they may slip. You may have to (shudder and no guarantees here) use some pliers on them to make them really tight.

Then don't make the mistake of leaving the awning out set like that when you are not around. Also watch your face and head when you unscrew those thumbscrews! The arms swing back FAST.

The first time I applied pliers to one of them it shattered. Got some all stainless knobs from McMaster Carr. They are 1/4-20 x 1.

If you change them out be aware the last thread on the original is staked to keep them from falling out so they screw out hard for the last bit. Also don’t let the little block they screw in to slide down when you take the knob out.
