Installing new slide topper

Just bought new windjammer 3025W. Have three slides. One is under awing the other two not. Would like to put toppers on myself. Are they hard to put on ? Is there any videos of how to do it. Just don't want to mess up brand new camper.

Better to have (2) other people! 2 on ladders and 1 "Runner",saves a lot of Up & Down! After you do yours (2) of you can install the next one! Youroo!! Its a 3-4 on a 10 scale!

I agree with youroo. I did both mine myself with help from a friend. Took about 2 hours total after measuring two or three times before drilling. It’s a lot cheaper to do yourself instead of having the dealer do it.

Thanks for input. I am in construction. So I was thinking of setting up staging . I would also set up platform to keep tools close by. As you stated don't need to go up and down. Just need to find right topper now.

Search YouTube for 'slide out topper installation', you'll get lots of know how.

Hoogy,
I installed a 14 ft Dometic slide topper all by myself last year. Granted, it would have been easier with some help, but only took about 3 hours and many trips up and down the ladders. I ended up extending the slideout about a foot and used the top as a shelf and third hand. I don't recommend trying to work off the rv roof ... we don't bounce like we used to and a 10ft fall would not be pretty. There are several Youtube videos you can watch that are pretty detailed and will guide you. I ordered my topper from Makarios RV, who also have some videos on sizing and installation, plus the best price at that time(2017). (before you place your order, be sure to check the shipping costs on all the dealers, that was the big savings point for me. The item comes enclosed in a long cardboard tube with all the components within. I had mine shipped to my office and had a tough time getting it home since it was as long as my whole pickup truck!
Good Luck with the install ........ Swampy

Order it about a foot longer so it will hang over each side about 6 " to keep sideways rain off topper. I wish I had the forethought before ordering.

I just finished installing three toppers. The hard part was installing the hardware. Took 6 hours. I made spacers to hold the channel level and true to side of RV. I had a friend help install the cover/roller. That is the easy part. Just follow instruction sheet and watch a video.

Great word of advise. When searching “how to” installation or when ordering most tell you to measure the frame of the slide and add a couple inches on each side for over hang.

Sure its easier if you have help, but is doable for one person, ... when I installed a 9 1/2' on our Micro Lite(without help), all the YouTube videos I could find at that time, were of just REPLACING the material, not an install from scratch, maybe there are some now...

After looking at our V-Lite it appears the sidewalls already have the track in place from the factory. Would just need to slide fabric in the track and mount it to the slideout. That should be a big help.
