Interior coach door deterioration

Door looks like battery acid spilled on it. Any ideas?

Welcome!

Pictures might be useful in this case. Are you looking for ideas on how to clean it up or replace the door?

Here are pics. Door can't be repaired. It has holes in it. I would just like to know what caused it.
