Lippert door window removal

I just received my AP products thin shade. While searching Lippert door window removal I learned about the 16 clip spreaders or keys. The replacement AP didn't come with any Lippert removal wedges. Rather than than ordering the crazily over priced removal pcs. which seem only available from Lippert or etrailer ,was wondering if there's another diy trick to remove the oem. Can't see myself ever reinstalling the original again unless something were to go wrong.

Do you need the wedges for installing new window? If no, and since your never putting the oem back in a hammer comes to mind?

Guess that's a quick/easy option. Hate to destroy something unless absolutely sure it's replacement is in specs. May resort to that once sure. Could actually spare the glass but the inside trim would be toast

Others said the called AP products, I assume they make the window, and they sent them some free.

Thank's I've seen that video also. Not worried about the installation so much. Appreciate the thought of contacting AP for the required removal pcs. I can understand why they wouldn't supply the Lippert clip openers as many are not made that way. Maybe there was another part number that included the needed parts had I ordered direct from AP. Live and Learn , most mfg. provide things needed for universal products designed to fit various standard RV stuff.

I thought I read someplace where someone used popsicle sticks at each clip to release them without breaking? Maybe try google and see if you find that. I'll do another search and see if I can post it.

I had given popsicle sticks a thought too. I did contact AP and am impressed with their swift response. They offered to send me the clip spreaders or whatever they're called free of charge. I also talked with the local rv dealer shop tech. He said they just use a flat blade screwdriver. Since AP was so kind, I'll just sit tight and wait for the proper removal pcs. I tend to overthink problems but would rather do it right the first time. Thanks for the replies.

Flat blade screw driver... bet you can easily ding, scratch the door frame. Good move on waiting for the proper tool...

Well, got the clip spreaders yesterday and did the install today. The clip things were a help. All but 3 released, and those 3 broke. That's ok because this window is an exact fit and should I ever need new glass the screws will make it much easier. Happy with the product and the outcome.
