Locked out!

Hello I'm new to the forum and need help with an issue I have. I just bought a 2006 Cherokee Lite 28a+ last may and unfortunately I have misplaced the keys to the door and storage compartments. The dealer I bought it from is almost 2 hours away from me. How would I go about getting replacement keys or do I have to replace the door and compartment locks or can I get keys to open my existing locks and can my local dealer help me with that? Thanks for any help I am able to receive.

According to my dealer, the storage compartment keys are not unique to your RV. Also one of the door locks is unique and one is not. So you may be able to just order replacement keys.

That sounds good it was either going to be a locksmith or try the dealer. Just not sure which one is more expensive or if the cost is about the same either way.

If you know the number on your door keys you can order them online. As stated above, I'm willing to bet your pass thru uses a ch751 key. These are readily available online.

Yes that is the number on the compartment keys unfortunately I do not remember the number on the key that unlocks the deadbolt and the other lock on that door.

Did you lock both locks on the main doors?? If not (I forget which one I always have to ask the dealer which one to lock so he can get in.) the dealer may have a master key but if you locked both locks that will not work. If the compartment locks are the CH751 they will definitely have a key.

Good Luck.....

If it is the standard door lock, the top one is universal by model / brand, the lower one is unique and you will need to know key number.

Mine is like that one key for the entry one for the basement and the rest were 751.

if you know the key number, you can order from here. I just ordered 2 new keys as someone stole one of my sets from my Jeep. Going to put a set in a magnetic key box hidden somewhere.

If I remember correctly, the regular lock should be able to be opened with the master, and it's the deadbolt that you need the unique key for. Your dealer should be able to get you in in that case.

Course, this still doesn't solve the problem of not having the keys on hand. At some point, you'll still need to either get a set made or find where the cat hid yours.

I found my keys! THANK GOD! My wife's cat got ahold of them and dropped them between the washer and dryer in my basement. :-)
