Making window valances

We are upgrading our 2013 Freedom Express TT 246RKS to a 2018. The 2013 had pretty window and door valances/treatments that really gave off a cozy feel. The 2018 has none, going for a more clean, modern look we guess, (or to save money) but it definitely is colder looking. What is present is a small covering to basically hide the blind mechanism. Any suggestions or links to make valances from scratch and the best way to attach them will be appreciated!

When we bought our new Salem the first thing we had to do was "Gussy Up" the windows also.

The smaller bedside windows had curtain rods on them so we didn't need anything to replace those. The dinette only had the blinds. I purchased a wooden decorative rod with hangers and hung the brackets along side, attached to the wooden frame of the dinette. Was perfect.

The curtains were of 2 matching grommet panels, both cut in 1/2 lengths, now having 4 panels to cover 3 windows. Panels were purchased at Walmart and measured and sewn to fit.Click image for larger version

Also check out youtube for building Valances and Cornices. Many helpful videos there to check out. Good luck,

Love your window ideas and may go with something similar. Thanks for the Youtube suggestion. All I could find were recovering videos. Your search suggestion brought up what I need!
All the best!

Thanks also!
Our "valances" are lacking sides and we have often talked about a re-do.
This is helpful! Might be a good winter project.
