Modification Suggestions

I have a situation Iím hoping others have already solved. Iíve got a 2015 Rockwood Ultralight 2608WS that has the pneumatic arms on the front and rear entry doors.

While I like the pneumatic arms most of the time, what Iím not so wild about is the sort of fuzzy sweeper strip attached to the bottom of each screen door. Iíve not posted pics on the forum before and donít know how to rotate the pics.

My situation is this. The sweeper strip around the pneumatic arm stays sort of folded out of the way, and has been pinched off in some clumps over the last couple of years, allowing large gaps that turn the interior of the camper into my personal Wild Kingdom of mosquitos, flies and other flying, biting pests. Not good.

Question: without removing the arms off the doors, has anyone come up with a mod to resolve this situation? I started jamming dog poop bags in the gap, which works ok but is not a permanent fix. A stiff door sweep like you might use on your house wonít work as the arm will rip it off and damage the bottom of the screen doors.

Thanks for any suggestions. The arms are a good idea but the fuzzy sweeper isnít.

I had the same situation with mine and the gas shocks. One of the first mods I did was getting rid of them and installing the T style door catches so both doors open up all the way. The fuzzy sweep is still intact and none the worse for wear since I did the mod early on before it started to get ratty. Haven't regretted it for a second and that was at least 3 years past. There are two sizes, the longer is on the rear entry door, located to prevent collision with the open window should it get away from you in a strong wind and you see the installed bumper. The front opens slightly further

Thank you for the suggestions. I am going to try and find a good quality sweep for the bottom of the door. I want to leave the gas arms on at this time if I can. They have their pros/cons, but I don't want to remove them just yet.
