Newer model cargo latches

I have a 2009 Cedar Creek and was wondering if the new cargo door latches are better and if so can mine be upgraded. Not sure if I'm even using the right terms, I'm a new owner. Thanks

I don't have the Fiver here, but it's the round locks verses the new rectangle ones that I'm talking about, those round ones just don't seem very secure.

The Blue Ridge factory rep I spoke with at the Tampa RV show happily referred to them as "slam latches" as if they were an awesome improvement. He seemed to relish the demonstrations. They certainly sounded sturdy. More than one of ours was not adjusted correctly and could be sneezed open. I guess security depends on installation as well as strength.

the 'slam latches" are lot more secure, and not all keyed alike the like the other style. Unfortunately the slam latches are much bigger and recessed into the door. Nothing short of replacing the doors would solve that problem.

My slam latches are all keyed the same. You will probably not be able to key them the same as the older style latch.

Newer model cargo latches

There has been someone here who has retrofitted their doors to accept the slam type latch...it looked factory as I remember. I think it was Oldcoot...
