Replacing door holder/bumper

I need to replace a broken door holder on a Salem TT. I have the new part but an having trouble getting the old one off. There doesn't seem to be a screw inside the rubber tube bumper. With the 3 screws removed, it won't budge. Is there an adhesive in play and if so, how do I proceed?Click image for larger version

Try turning the bumper. My bumper is threaded and screwed on. Just twist it counter clockwise and it should come off. Then you may have a better look at removing the whole bracket.

The rubber tube does turn counterclockwise, but does not unscrew.

Think of the rubber tube as a spacer held in with a screw. Look down inside with a flashlight. When these are installed there is a layer of butyl caulk used. Great stuff. Since you should use care tightening the screws so as not to strip any thing, the caulk tape compresses somewhat over time, snug your screws up, wait a few weeks and repeat the process. That caulk tape will help to adhere( glue) it to the siding. So once all your screws appear to be out, use a putty knife to gently remove the T latch

Jeff64, thanks! Had to slip the putty knife behind the door stop to get the screw to turn. Job done!
