Safety Support Bar for Flagstaff MAC

I just purchased a 2010 Flagstaff MAC Pop-up. Watching videos, they showed the safety bars once the roof is up. I wasn't provided those in the purchase. I have a A/C unit on the roof, so I'm sure it has added quite a bit of weight. Are these safety bars optional or a nice to have for piece of mind? Has any of these unit ever collapsed - thus the need for the safety bars? Last year I owned a 2010 Coleman Pop-up and there were no references anywhere that I saw for the "need."

Check under the bed mattresses for them. Yes you should have them on opposite corners when the roof is up. IE, one front corner and the opposite rear corner. If a cable breaks they keep the roof from coming down.
