Salem Grand Villa Awning

I need to know the trick to keeping water out of my awning.
Winter storage; On a dry day the camper is winterized. This includes a hand wash and dry of my awning. It is then rolled up and the roof is covered with an RV cover and not blue storage tarps.
Spring opening; When the cover is removed and the awning is opened, It is packed full of water. The awning is a sunsetter 25ft. It is manual. It rolls up under as it should but even when I return on the weekends and open the awning up, It rains water. Any ideas will be appreciated.
