set screws on Velvac mirrors

The set screws on both my exterior Velvac rearview mirrors are missing. Today, while returning home from a weekend of camping I noticed that my left exterior mirror was not staying in position after I adjusted it. Closer inspection revealed the set screw on the end of the arm which retains the mirror in place is missing. I checked the right side mirror and it too was missing the set screw although the left mirror is staying in place. When I look in the hole where the set screw goes I see a little pin. I have no idea what the pin is for. My question is, are these set screws just standard type set screws or are they of a special design? I would also like to know the function of that little pin. Thanks in advance for any info forthcoming.

Looking at Velvac parts list the instructions say to use a 3/16 hex wrench which I assume would be for the set screws.
3/8" dia. set screws have a 3/16" hex.

Do the holes look like they are 3/8 dia. ?

Yes there are different types of set screws so it would be a good Idea to contact the mfg.

It turns out that the set screw was loose on the drivers mirror. The "pin" I was seeing was not a pin at all, it was the center of the set screw LOL.
