Slide out step

I'm really not sure which thread this should be posted in, so I thought I'd try this one. Mods please move where appropriate.
My FR Sunseeker (Mercedes chassis) 2400WS has a motorized retractable step at the entry door. Is there a way to make it inoperative? We don't need it and find that we wish it just would remain retracted.
Thanks

Typically the steps are fused off the coach batteries (sometimes directly) and if the steps are Kwikee the fuse will be a 25 amp. That fuse will remove power to the steps and they will remain at whatever position they are in (extended/retracted).

Another way could be, at the steps, is remove the steps green ground wire from ground and secure away from touching ground. Another way is to disconnect the steps 4 way connector from the coach harness. The steps will need to be fully retracted to accomplish either of these.

Thanks so much. I had thought about the fuse disconnect option but wondered if that circuit may control other items as well.
I'll look into the ground wire option.

Found the answer in case anyone else has this issue. I could barely squeeze underneath that side of the coach due to it being parked on a slant. Under the step frame is an electrical connector (male/female) that can be pulled apart. It will require a good sealing job on the ends of the connectors if disconnected as this area is prone to water/road grit intrusion.
