Unhappy Solera Awning

Hi. is it just me, or are the awnings sold with some trailers next to useless? We picked up our new trailer a month ago and it has a Solera Awning on it. During the "5 cent tour" our salesman made it very clear that "this awning will not stand up to some of the stronger winds that your old carefree spirit awning would". I believe he suggested no winds at all?
He didn't roll it out there but i did when we got home.

I'm glad i didn't buy deflappers as I don't know where they would attach on the frame. Also, I don't know how to "tighten" up the fabric once is rolled out. So far I only do 2 things to roll it out. flip the lever on the end and pull. am I missing a step that tightens the fabric up some?

You need a set of awning poles to tighten it up......
Pm oldcoot as he has previously made them for carefree awnings but not an lci solera.
See if he's interested in helping you.

Would need close up pictures of the ends of the awning. Motor end and spring end and a few dimensions.
