Solera Slide-Out Awnings

We have a 2020 Forest River Georgetown GT5 34H5 and just returned from a trip to Florida.

As we were backing into our driveway a metal piece fell off the coach. It was easy to see where it came from and after a quick search, I determined its function. It is an Anti-Billowing Stop that prevents the slide-out awning from opening as you are driving down the road.

However, I am sure that it was only luck that was in our corner. There was nothing wrong with the part. Apparently, the screws simply came out. IMHO, they were stripped at the factory and the result was only a matter of time.

I ordered the correct Anti-Billowing kit for Solera Slide-Out Awnings from:

https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...rt/LC78FR.html

and installed it with no problem. Cost is only $15 but saves... $$$

One more thing to put on the checklist before getting "On the Road Again!"

Be Safe out there!

Why did you buy a new one when there was nothing wrong with the old one? And you ordered the "correct one" was the one installed not correct?

Thumbs up Easy Repair

Ahoy Shipmate,

I ordered the new one to be sure that I had the "correct" screws, since they fell out. Additionally, the screws might have wallowed out the holes making the holes too big for the screws to hold the part. Buying the entire kit gave me all the information I needed, before I climbed a ladder up there to make the repair. Yes, I have boxes of screws laying around that would have done the job, but it was cheap and easy to get the proper ones and now I know what I need, if it should happen again. I kept the original part, base cleat and extra screws in the coach parts bin just for emergency repair. You can never be too careful. Owning a coach is like being at sea, when you are underway you are the only readily available source for everything.

Belt and suspenders...

Correct part

I forgot to address the "correct part" question.

I was simply stating that etrailer.com had the exact same (correct) part for my Solera awning. It was not similar, or same like and kind, it was exactly the Solera Anti-Billowing Kit that I needed.
