tie down

I'm using the OC brackets and emt poles for my awning, but I'm having a hard time getting an anchor point in the ground.
How many pounds of concrete do you think I need in a five gallon bucket to hold my awning down.
I'm thinking 40 pounds but wanted some other oppions

Buckets become projectiles.
Use something like the 'Claw.'
They are made to tie down aircraft.

They work good but I'm certainly not going to tell you they will work at Myrtle Beach with nothing but sand. Only YOU can decide.

In reality what works in only sand... not much IMHO.
You may want to look into something like these...

I use the old Camco corkscrew type, like you'd put a pet on, and happy with those but, sand is a different story. How bout a couple of empty 5 gal buckets and fill them with water? Full would be roughly 40 lbs. Or if you carry a couple jerry cans as I do, tie off to them maybe?
