Vinyl vs woven acrylic

I need to replace my patio awning (wall mounted, 16 foot). Any opinions/thoughts on vinyl vs woven acrylic?

Thanks,
Steve

No opinions??

I need to replace mine and had the same vinyl vs acrylic question.

Really? No opinions out there on one vs the other?

Mine was originally Dometic. Opinions on other options? Sunwave, Shade Pro, Solera, etc.?

We're probably more concerned about sun shade than rain protection but we'll see both.

Protective Covers? Our fabric was ripped up by another RV pulling out of a parking space in Banff and turning too soon, dragging their back corner against the awning. In retrospect, it's a good thing the awning took the hit instead of the RV.

Whichever material is more UV resistant would be my recommendation.

Woven Acrylic is often referred to as "Sunbrella" which is a trade name for a company's offering.

Woven Acrylic is more UV resistant but Vinyl is more "Bird Poop" resistant

Woven Acrylic is becoming more the favorite among boaters. More flexible, doesn't crack as easy.

For RV use, vinyl can become rather stiff and brittle when the weather gets real colt, often cracking.
