Wildcat Maxx Pass-Through Storage Doors

Question on the two doors for access to the storage tunnel. Neither has any means of restraining them and keeping them from damage. There is the potential for being caught by the wind and slamming them open against the trailer or the person looking for something in storage. The access door on the trailer-door side hits the bottom of the awning arm which would cause serious damage to the access door and maybe the awning if this happened.

I'm surprised Forest River hasn't addressed this issue, or come up with a solution that would keep damage from happening.

I have a couple of ideas, but would like to see if anybody in the forum has already come up with a good way to control the swing of the door.

I looked on the FR site...I see that the basement storage doors are hinged from the side and swing open like a conventional door. Most other doors are hinged from the top and require some kind of restraint or air cylinders to keep them open. I guess that FR didn't think that these style of doors need a restraint.

Thanks Dave, I'll be doing something to the doors in the near future, just didn't want to go drilling holes in things without having a good solid plan that works. Brand new trailer and all. I just don't want them to get damaged.

As a suggestion, you could use the same rod/receptacle used to secure the camper's exterior door. Good two faced adhesive could be used to attach them to the baggage doors and camper side.
