window opening

hi,

my window crank seems to be broken. it looks like I would have to get the full assembly and replace it, does any one know of a way to sill open / close the window with the crank broken it just keeps turning?

What you can try is using two people one outside and on inside. The person outside shakes the window by the bottom edge back and forth quickly while the inside person turns the crank in the direction to open. I have gotten them to open this way.

I should have added once open you can see what the problem is if it a stripped operation just drill out the rivets get a new operator and pop resit it back in place good luck

thanks, i'll give it a try. i think the operator is stripped since the crank keeps turning w/out seeming to engaging. Also assuming there is no other way to close the window shut tight? I saw some gears on the inside of the mechanism and was wondering if I can spin / tighten them to get the window to be more snug currently on the road.

I had the same problem while traveling and ended up taping the window shut from the outside with blue tape for 1500 miles. I used the blue painters tape to keep the residue off the rig
