Window problem

I have a 2013 Mirada motorhome with sliding windows. Not frameless. The dining room sliding window open/close bar has come off the glass. This bar has a rubber gasket inside the slot. I have been unable to reattach the sliding bar to the glass. I hesitate to use a hammer. Any ideas on how to get the bar back on the glass? Click image for larger version

Not sure about the window, but one thing I am sure of is, do not hit the edge of tempered glass with a hammer.
That is the most fragile spot. You can smack the middle of the glass with a hammer and nothing will happen.
Tap the edge of the glass and ...poof! a million little pieces.
