Window shade anchors

Trying to figure out how to release the window shade cords to lower them. Accordion type shade with vertical cords leading to button anchors below the windows. Thanks for any guidance and insight.

A picture would help. Many RV shades are help in place by the tension of the string. If you have shades like that, you just pull the shades down by hand. I just pull it away from the window ever so slightly to avoid dragging it across the window frame.

Hope that helps.

X2^^

What do you mean release so you can lower them? You lower the accordion shades by grabbing the bottom of the shade and pull down. They just slip along the cord. To raise, you lift upward from the bottom. If the cord is too loose they won’t stay up.

To loosen/tighten the cord you loosen the button with a screwdriver and pull on the cord until tight as you want.
