2007 373 DS Slide Disaster AVERTED by 1/4 "

Howdy All,

I am sharing Before and after Photos, of the Nut 1/4" from The END thread of the Hydraulic Piston. I was aware we had a problem, with a Top Measurement of 17 1/2 " on Top, and 20" on the Bottom while Bed Rm Slide was Extended.

Open to Input, Prior to Lock Nutting (Red) ?

We could not do any of this without, our Lord & Savior.

That nut looks like a lock nut, kinds with the plastic inside to prevent loosening--which apparently happened anyway. I would not use red lock tight. If for some reason it needs to be removed, it would be extremely difficult. Can try a different style luck nut (local hardware can help with selection, take old one with you), or use 2 standard nuts. Tighten one against another and they will not come loose without a pair of wrenches.
