‘21 FSX 178 BHSK to lubricate or to not lubricate

I have a 2021 forest river FSX 178 BHSK. I’m getting differing advice on whether or not to lubricate the slide rails. Some people are saying with the newer ones you don’t need to lubricate, other say, they lubricate anything that moves. Should I lubricate and if so with what. Thank you

Mine are probably different than yours but my preference is if they are working properly and don't show any signs of wierd wear I don't do anything with them.

I live in a desert with frequent sandstorms, no need to add an extra sand holder.

That's why most of us in the desert use dry lube spray

I use various brands of dry lubricants and definitely less of a magnet for sand, but exposed lube spots seem to collect sand

X2, if it is exposed like a track I lube it with Dry Lube every trip. No Problems since June 2016 on a whole wall slide.

What kind of slide rails?
Forest River uses several types of slide mechanisms.

According to Lippert (builder of slide mechanisms currently used by Forest River) only place on slides, at least through frame electric or hydraulic, that get lubed are the side plates on the gear clusters where shaft goes through them. Use a DRY Silicone spray.

They EMPHASIZE not to lube the actual gear, polymer wheels (that actually support slide rails), and rack gear teeth.

Check out their online slide service manuals.
