30ds slide out

Hello I have a 2016 30ds and today as I was trying to extend the living room slide something got caught between the slide and the wall preventing it from fully extending. I heard a loud pop from the top middle of the slide. I was able to retract it but now it won’t extend all I hear is popping. Any help or ideas what happened? Thank you

Sounds like you may have a loose cable. The popping could be the chain slipping.

This happened to my bedroom slide while still on warranty. The left top pulley came loose and caused the motor to pull itself off the wall. The RV dealer had to put a steel plate on the wall to remount the motor & pulleys. With help of Forest River, I had it fixed within three weeks of the failure.

I now double check the slide before opening or closing.

I did have a slide motor failure labor day weekend:
Stuck in my Driveway with a dead living room slide motor.

I have some photos in the thread that show the motor & chain setup of the living room slide.

Good Luck &

Thank you for the information I’m going to send it to the dealer to get fixed. I can’t believe that the motor is so hard to get to.
