310DS Living room slide does not move

The living room slide on our 2007 Coachmen 310DS does not move. It makes a continuous clicking sound. A youtube video can be seen here.

I have tried it both while plugged into shore power only and with the generator only. The same clicking sound and no movement under both conditions.

I have a 2007 Coachmen Mirada. I believe it is a Venture Mfg slide since the gear box is stamped with Venture Mfg. Serial number 071005011519. The motor looks like a Mamco Corp BP-12-135. The living room slide out has stopped moving. It makes a click, click sound. The control panel has a manual override toggle switch and I am really hoping that somehow it is stuck toggled at manual override but I doubt that. An RV shop believes that it is the motor the needs replacing. I am wondering if there is a way to check the motor without simply replacing it. Or is it electrical? I have seen posts suggesting the motor may not be getting enough power from the battery. I have tried it plugged into shore power and with the generator running but in both situations the slide makes a clicking sound.
