Above floor slide out

We have a 2012 FR Wildwood 22RKS. We are the third owners and have had it and loved it for 5 years now. We were new to this “world” when we bought it. It came with a hand crank that we were told is for manual retraction of the above floor slide. The jackknife sofa is in the slide. Here’s the issue; we can’t figure out where to insert the crank in the event it is needed. There are no holes or plugs anywhere on the outside of the slide. You can see the mechanism and motor assembly if you lay on the floor at the end of the sofa while the slide is open. The sofa sits on a carpeted platform above the floor and is skirted with upholstered panels that don’t look to be easily removed to access behind them. Has anyone had experience with this? It’s the only thing we haven’t been able to figure out, to be prepared for a problem. I have downloaded all the Lippert Slide manuals and all I can determine is that it’s above floor, rack and pinion driven.

Take a look on the opposite side of the rig the slide goes out from, there may be the access there. Jut a thought.

If you have a compartment door on the slide side check inside on the ceiling of the compartment.

Nothing anywhere. The only place I can see the slide mechanism is underneath from the end when it’s closed. Thanks!

No compartments at all. This is so strange. All the mechanisms are under the box the sofa is mounted to. Just can’t figure out how to access. Thanks!

When I bought my last 5th wheel (2006 Arctic Fox 29-5t), the original owners informed me that the hand crank was for emergency slide operations. It was not. It was the manual crank for the front landing gear (for power failure / motor failure situations), and for lowering the spare that was mounted underneath, up between the frame rails.
The slide manual process involved a socket on the slide motor itself. You had to crawl under to access it. I never had to, but wanted to know what to do, just in case.

Not the same as your model but our 2013 had a hole in the opposite side frame rail to use the emergency side hand crank. So yes it was outside and bacically under the trailer.

Did you ever find a solution? I also own a FR 22 RKS and our slideout just stopped working. There's a high-pitched whine when you hit the "Extend" button, so I know it's not a power issue but the slideout doesn't move at all.

I finally got the answer last month from a mobile repairman. There’s a center panel at the base of the sofa that comes off to reveal a hex shaped bolt type head that the supplied crank fits on. The same crank has slots in it to manually crank the power stabilizers. I feel better knowing how to manually operate all the powered features on my rig. It was much easier to find instructions for the weather pro awning.
