Adhesive all over slideout, any tips on removal?

I ran my slides out today to do some work under the trailer. When I did, the living room slide pulled the inner part of the rubber seal out with it on one side. I basically have two questions. 1) What is the best way to ensure that I have the seal firmly re-seated so I don't have to go through this again and 2) anybody have any suggestions on how to get that devil adhesive off the outside of the slide, windows, and rubber window seals? This stuff literally smeared all over the side of the slideout. I tried alcohol and bug/tar remover with a razor blade (very carefully) with minimal results. This unit has a gel coat finish, so I need something that won't damage it. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Try GooGone, I had the same problem was able to get most of the stuff off.

Thanks. Looks like they have it at my local Wal Mart, so I'll pick a bottle up after work this evening and give it a try. I really appreciate it.

Did you have to do anything else to your seal or just re-seat it?

After you get the seals back together you might want to get some "Slide Out Lube & Rubber Seal Conditioner" to prevent it from sticking to the slide out.

x2 on the updates.... my revere looks like Boubous first picture as well. What do people use to fix? just a basic black silicone?

I have used Goof off which I bought from Homedepot(it took off the rubber marks from a tire blowout I had recently) also once you get your seal back in place use a silicone spray lube on seals it keeps it from dragging and pulling out.

WD40 sure works on most adhesives and doesn't damage anything. Just make sure you use alcohol on the surface afterwards to remove any WD40 residue.
