Can I stand on my slide out roof?
I need to reseal the outer edge of the slide out roof. Is it safe to stand on the thing? I can't figure out any other way to get to it.

Can you put the slide in almost all the way, use a step ladder and seal it that way? Seems like that would be safer.

In my case I do.

I would not as I found my 12'slide was bowed about 1" in the mid section. I reinforced the roof behind the decorative trim.
Not sure if this was caused by standing on open edge from the exterior or not but it would make sense.

That's right. You can do anything you want. Whether any damage is incurred is another story. 12' span,200# on aluminium framed non supported roof. You do the math.

If you have a teenage son as I do, get them to do it-(140 lbs) versus 250! (In my case)! Also, laying down on the roof will distribute that weight better. Randy

The best one of these suggestions to to only move the slide out a little and reseal it that way, you dont need it out all the way to do the job.

Well since I go about 230 maybe I'll explore the issue a little more.
