Do you store with your slide out?

I've seen a lot of trailers out and about that are in "storeage" with the slideouts in the "out" position. We always store with it in the "in" position. Am I missing something? It doesn't seem logical to me leave the slideouts in the extended position.

if its unattended i would leave em IN, never know what kind of weather may start up

also i heard some leave em out to help prevent theft.... but hey if they have a screwdriver, you canbet they can run slides in just as fast

At the seasonal lot...everyone leaves them out. I only close mine in the winter storage months...and many don't even do that. Ours don't leak...no matter what Mother Nature has dropped. So far...so good.

We leave ours out all the time. Like I said in another post, the only time ours is in is when it's being towed. As soon as we get home we slide it out.

OK, but why do you leave them out? That's what I'm curious about. b

That's a good question. We leave ours out because it's easier to move around in and we're always in and out of it getting it cleaned up , restocked and ready for the next trip.

I don't konw about the OP but that is pretty much what I wanted to hear.

We use our TT at least once a month year round so the slide will get exercised frequently.

Our front kitchen floorplan is a lot easier to prepare for flight if the slide is out.

We keep ours in unless we are planning a trip. Then I open it up and leave it until we are ready to pull out.

It stays in all winter but I do open it and close it periodically to be sure it still works.

So it seems to come down to personal preference and circumstances. That works for me. Thanks. I'm in Hokie's camp personally.

Slider in or out

If the slide mechanism is manufactured by Lippert Corp. be sure to follow the maintenance instructions listed in their manual. The manual states, "If the slide is extended the cylinder shaft should be sprayed with silicone every five to seven days. If in a salt atmosphere, three to four days is recommended."
Their cylinders are guaranted for five years, but if you don't spray, they won't honor.

I leave my slide in usually. I am afraid of sag. Don't know if that is realistic or not.
