Forest river 2018 slide out at angle-

We went to put the slide out for the first time this season and the front went out 12 in but the back did not move. Any suggestions?

You probably have a Schwintek slide system which has a motor on either side of the slide. Here are some you tube videos to help you

Should the engine on RV be running when you retract or extend the slide out if you are hooked up to shore power?

No the engine should be off you should either be hooked to shore power or have hour generation running.

Thanks! We are exhausted! We have had nothing but problems with this new unit. Finally had a mobile RV mechanic come out. He didn't have much knowledge on RV. Charged us and went on his merry way. Had another mechanic come out and he worked two hours. He had to take the side rails off and still could not get the unit in all the way. About two inches out. Now I'm scared to drive it to the dealer. So tired of all the problems we have had! It is a lemon!
