I'm back to trying to fix it while it's installed. I think if I remove the upper cam followers on both sides I might be able to get enough play to be able to reseat the gear. It doesn't spin freely so the keeper key is still intact.

If you can turn the gear to where the set screw is up, you should be able to slide the gear back under the rack and get a hex wrench in the set screw to tighten it.

Took a closer look at the diagram in my previous and part B the CROSS SHAFT ADAPTER appears to have multiple holes. Not sure if this could be the adjustment for the gaps many of us are having when the slide is in. One thought is if the slide gear is adjusted one or two cogs on the gear to make a tighter fit, it will make the seal on extension loose by that measurement! Something to consider.
Jbusch, I noticed in the diagram of parts, that the gear has a spline part G and there are 2 part J Crown Gear Set Screws. Have you been able to see those and are they accessible?
I'm trying to get as much information on this so I can pass it on to my dealer Monday when I take the MH in. They have new staff and may not be aware of the adjustments.

jbusch, did you get the gear back in place and tightened up? I don't see how you can get in there to access the screw. You did say you had to remove the above floor slides front kick plate right?
