First, try using the remote. If you turn on the remote and turn on "Slides", try opening or retracting with the remote.

IF the same problem continues, then I'd say the slides are wired wrong, or the Alta board is wired wrong, some kind of wiring issue.

IF the remote works correctly, but the slide rocker switch is still backwards, then again, wiring problem somewhere.

Also, you should have TWO rocker switches for the slides. One is inside. The other should be in the bay with the batteries or LevelUp board. If BOTH of the switches work backwards, then wiring. If the outside works correctly but the inside still works backwards, then seems the switch can be rewired to be correct.

Yes. Removed the battery to check water level and charge. It was after reinstalling that this reversal started.

Then check to see that you didn't reverse your battery cables. It's not always intuitive.

In the original problem description, this slide switch function reversal happened “all of a sudden.” Now, are you saying the problem actually began right after the battery was removed and reinstalled?

To bring some closure to the problem that many people have been trying to help you with, would you do the courtesy of explaining what the solution was? Perhaps it can help someone else who might encounter a similar problem.

The battery cables were reversed. It is a wonder that they worked at all. Thank you again for your helo

Thanks for letting us know what it was.

Be aware that you may have blown the reverse polarity fuses if your RV has them, so your converter/inverter charger may not be charging the batteries.

You 'may' have gotten lucky.

On top of what Bama Rambler mentioned, you are going to need to check the ENTIRE 12v side of things to be sure reversed voltage didn't trip 12v circuit breakers, blow fuses, or damaged any 12v component that seen positive voltage on the ground circuit.

I'm surprised wires didn't melt!

It did trip one circuit breaker and blow one fuse. Everything seems stable now. How do you check the converter/inverter?

Since your unit is a 2013 you likely have a converter. I don't know if it's attached to the power center or if it's separate.

If you'll post a picture of the power center with the door open we can tell you if it's integrated or not. And may be able to tell you where the reverse polarity fuses are.

Bama Rambler you are correct. It is a convertor and located by itself in the pass thru storage. We have located the two 35 amp polarity fuses. We will replace them tomorrow. Thank you.

Glad you found it. Replacing those fuses should fix the problem of the converter not charging the batteries.

Silly question, switch pop out of wall perchance and put back in upside down? Might explain things.

Come on! This is the worse possible cause. Reversing battery cables would cause sparks and short electrical components out. When things are working “ normally” then they quit working without doing anything different the fault is that circuit. People need to understand Diagnostic and trouble shooting. Tie the symptom to system. Slide motors, and awning motors, if gone beyond range of normal movement can cause the motor to work in reverse. Awnings for example, when extending to far will automatically wind back in opposite direction. Most likely cause is switch is faulty, or slide adjustments got out of wack—not possible the way the system is designed—but when it comes to manufacture defects everything becomes possible. Please don’t forget to let us know how you fixed the problem. Happy Camping. Oh!Merry Christmas

I’m not sure, but I get a strong feeling that you have not read through the entire thread.

Really? If you had been on the site as long as some of us, you'd realize "reversed battery cables" gets reported here 2-4 times per quarter. The act might cause a few sparks and probably the blowing of the two Reverse Polarity fuses but not that other damage you mention. The OP already told us how he fixed the problem. He put the cables back like they were intended to be. He had no further complaints.
