how to manually retract slide out

I have a 2018 Prime Time Tracer Air 26' trailer. It has one slide on the driver's side. This unit was recently purchased used. The slide system is a system of cables and pulleys. Although it works fine, I am anticipating the day I push the button and it will not slide back in and I'm stranded. The motor is located above the center of the slide out at the top and mounted to the exterior wall of the trailer. There is a 12" flexible cable to attach the the end of the motor which is a tight squeeze at best. I can turn the motor over with a cordless drill and this flex cable, but once the slide starts to retract or come in the cable is too short to do any good. How does one retract this type of slide on this trailer?

That's how you do it. On mine (never will own another one with cables) it worked great, I just moved in with the slide or out when extending it. I guess it would depend on how much room your particular unit has?
