Inside Slide-out Fascia about to coming off

The fascia over the bed was not as bad, so I only added the two end screws. Time will tell.

Is the plywood secured tight to the edge of the slide or does it flex?

It is definitely su cutely attached, but, I am assuming there is flexing in the plywood as well, since when the slide is in there is space between the plywood and fascia, which disappears when the slide is extended.

I cannot seem to play the video on my iPad. ?I will have to check it on a computer later.

Ok, Sagecoachdriver, that looks scary. I did not observe any movement of the vertical fascia. I will look more closely at a later time, but I am sure they are securely attached.

After taking that video this morning, I removed the insert and pulled the fascia and 3 of the 5 square head screws had pulled thru the plywood. I secured the plywood with 5 more screws and re-installed the fascia. Now there is just a little bit of wiggle.
If I recall, on my Schwintek slide-out, the upper fascia had fallen off and you can see in one of the photos that I cut away some of the overlapping vinyl which caused the uneven surface that the fascia was mounted to. I also used screws to secure the upper fascia and one section actually has a bolt, washer and nut securing it. I had to counter sink it so as to reapply the insert. The screws didn't hold.

I was prepared to put a spacer of plywood under the fascia to bring it out a bit. I figured I would hide any gaps with trim. When I went to video the movement today, ?I ran the slide in and out several times and did not see flexing of the fascia. We will see how well it holds up over time.

Btw, if you ever want to bend wood, I believe you have to steam it. Not an easy process.

The screws that were holding my front fascia plywood on were either stripped or loose. I replaced the screws with #14 x 1 SS oval Philips head screws and that made a huge difference. I used an electric driver and was able to really make the fascia solid. I am going to do this to the top and rear side as well. The factory fasteners were totally inadequate.
