Main Slide digs into floor when retracted and we are traveling

We have a 2018 Georgetown GT-5 31R5.
Whenever we extend our Main Slide, there is a a chalky powder and a hole developing on our floor directly under where the inner edge of the slide is when retracted. A repair attempt was done last year under Warranty by installing slats under the slide. But the problem continues. RV service person said he's seen this in many RVs. Is there a fix? We're worried about ruining our floor.
